The End of an Era … A New Day Dawns
A personal letter from Dave Adcock
It’s now a year since EU Welcome came under the same charity as the CLEAR project. It’s also a year since I ceased to be an employee of EU Welcome. I always promised myself that I would give 12 months as a volunteer and that time has now come to an end. So this is the last web update I will be writing.
I will also be handing over responsibility of @EUWELCOME on Twitter and the EU Welcome Project page on Facebook.
I do however want to stay in touch with many of you, who have become friends over the years. The best way to stay in contact will be through Facebook dave.adcock1 or Twitter @DaveDaveadcock and @SouthamptonCelebrant. If you’d like my personal phone number just send me a message.
I’d like to thank Mike Brown and all at CLEAR for taking on EU Welcome and giving it a future at this key time. Mike can be contacted at email@example.com. I also want to commend Adriana 07917 879 259 firstname.lastname@example.org and Ania 07928 362 088 email@example.com for all the great work they do.
This year of 2019 is going to be an important year with (apparently) Brexit happening on 29 March and the need for all EU citizens in the UK to apply for Settled Status. Here is the latest info from the Home Office https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families along with this video https://twitter.com/ukhomeoffice/status/1078206349148708865/video/1
EU Welcome will be there to help as much as is possible during this process.
My hope is that EU Welcome and CLEAR will provide support over the coming years to all migrants who come to live and work in Southampton.
Finally, I’d like to thank you all. What started as a job for me became a passion, and many who started as clients have become dear friends. You have all helped me to grow as a person
I am grateful.
